3.3V 2-Channel RTD100 Temperature Sensor Shield/HAT for an Arduino NANO BLE Kit
This 3.3V 2 channel RTD100 temperature sensor Shield/HAT kit is a great addition to your Arduino NANO BLE 33 and Arduino H7 microcontrollers. Easy to assemble, just solder pin headers and green terminals as shown. It is designed to provide accurate temperature readings using 2/3/4 wire RTD 100 probes, which can be read via a USB serial port at 115200 Baud, 8-Data Bits and 1-Stop Bit or can be read from other devices including smartphones, and microcontrollers such as the Raspberry Pi 3/4/5 using the Bluetooth BLE protocol. It uses 2 of the 3.3V RTD100 modules that "Snap" into the RTD sockets located on top. The Arduino microcontroller snaps into the two rows of 15 pin sockets on the bottom of the PCB board as shown in the photos. The sensor function is specifically for temperature, and it operates on DC current type. The output type is digital, and it is suitable for DIY educational applications as well home automation. It has applications in various industries such as industrial automation and motion controls. It also has applications in business and industrial settings.
C Drivers and a simple 2-Channel C++ demo application that provides temperature data collection to a file are provided, that work on an Arduino microcontroller using the SPI protocol with purchase.
Benefits and Features as specified in Analog Devices Datasheets:
• Integration Lowers System Cost, Simplifies Design Efforts, and Reduces Design Cycle Time
• Simple Conversion of Platinum RTD Resistance to Digital Value
• Handles 100Ω to 1kΩ (at 0°C) Platinum RTDs (PT100 to PT1000)
• Compatible with 2-, 3-, and 4-Wire Sensor Connections
• SPI-Compatible Interface
• High Accuracy Facilitates Meeting Error Budgets
• 15-Bit ADC Resolution; Nominal Temperature Resolution 0.03125NC (Varies Due to RTD Nonlinearity)
• Total Accuracy Over All Operating Conditions: 0.5NC (0.05% of Full Scale) max
• Fully Differential VREF Inputs • 21ms (max) Conversion Time
• Integrated Fault Detection Increases System Reliability
• ±45V Input Protection • Fault Detection (Open RTD Element, RTD Shorted to Out-of-Range Voltage, or Short Across RTD Element)
Please note that required Arduino NANO BLE 33 board or Arduino H7 board and the 2/3/4 wire RTD100 Temperature probes must be provided by the user or purchased separately.
Please note that this is a low power 3.3V version designed to work specifically with the Arduino NANO BLE 33 and Arduino H7
microcontrollers and cannot be connected to 5.0V devices.
